Tech support scams are an industry-wide issue where scammers trick you into paying for unnecessary technical support services. Additionally, some scammers may try to identify themselves as a Microsoft MVP. You can help protect yourself from scammers by verifying that the contact is a Microsoft Agent or Microsoft Employee and that the phone number is an official Microsoft global customer service number. For example if I saved a scan to the desktop, the next scan would default to be saved to the desktop. When changing this location, the next scan would default to the new location etc. I presume this happens through some type of cache history.

For example if I saved a scan to the desktop, the next scan would default to be saved to the desktop. When changing this location, the next scan would default to the new location etc. I presume this happens through some type of cache history. How do I turn this back on as it currently defaults to the same place every time I scan, and it is wasting me so much time to keep changing the location to where I want it to go?
Did this solve your problem? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. When a scan goes through, the option for a second scan appears on the computer, to which I respond yes or no. When scanning has been completed the 'Save As' dialogue box comes up.
After saving the file, if I scan a new item, it used to 'Save As' to the same place I had just saved to. This was great. It has stopped doing this. It now defaults to 'Save As' and shows me either PC, desktop, etc.
The feature you have referred to is great for one location etc. It used to return to the previous save location of the previous scan, though it now always go to this default location. Do you have any more ideas on what I can do to get it to 'remember' the last file location I saved the previous scan to? Thank you with your replies on this. I did the checks and also ensured firmware and all other software is all up to date OS, Drivers etc.
My Lexmark software does not have relevant 'Scan to File' option as those seen within the help file images you listed. When viewing my Pinnacle Pro manual all it has are basic scanning settings. When searching the PDF file for ' Scan to File' it only shows up once in the Smart Solutions section, where they have manual scan settings that could be set, though not the way I am asking about.
I have included an image of what I see for you. Under the various options to select none of them have Scan to File. When I installed this machine a few years ago I didn't change or set any special settings to get what I had.
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved. The pages appear to be providing accurate, safe information. Set up for the scanning area is to go to PDF.
At this stage I choose where to save the scan. Colinhp Replied on October 10, Hello Greg. Thank you, Colin. Again, in the Lexmark software there should be a way to set up a Scan to File profile showing where you want the scans delivered to Documents, Pictures, Desktop, etc each time. This is not the same as the file type you want set as the default, but should be able to also put in your Scan to File profile as shown in the link I gave you. Please read it over now. If not then find your Manual to see how it's different.
Hello Greg, Thank you with your replies on this. Colin, it should be either in the Settings tab or the Advanced Scan settings link at top right. I've never seen a scanner that doesn't have a setting for where the scans land on the PC.
If not then I'd replace the scanner. This site in other languages x.
