Seeing my first self-published book simultaneously hit the 1 spot on an Amazon UK best-seller list and the 3 spot on an Amazon US best-seller list was also absolutely amazing. And then being accepted for publication with HarperCollins has made the last couple of years a whirlwind of highs!

Entering a new genre, erotic romance, meant I had no preconceptions and I just let it flow. It was an eye-opener and made a huge difference to my writing — I got published for one. I now work part-time as a PA to pay the bills and spend the rest of the time writing.
Tricky question! I do though try and write at least 10k words a week, but one day might be planning, tweaking and the next just getting words down. I think it stops the words and ideas from getting stale. I love having the freedom and time to write. I get some exercise walking to work, and some interaction with real people! I love wine! And suddenly simple… becomes complicated. How does my work differ from others of its genre? I also like to turn things on their head, go against stereotype and do something a bit different. I also like to write about strong, feisty, modern women.
Why do I write what I do? Easy — because I love reading romantic fiction and watching rom-coms. In short, I love writing about love! Shakespeare was right. How does my writing process work?
The main character, usually the female protagonist, tends to come to me first. From them, from their hopes, dreams, ambitions, fears, springs the conflict and the story. Finishing the first draft can be exceptionally painful and requires a lot of discipline, even though I adore writing, but I can write ridiculously fast when I need or want to and for hours at a time. I can also write anywhere and any time — a crowded train, in a corner of a cafe, during my lunch break at work, sat on the sofa, lying in bed with my laptop at midnight….
