This is a well put together sourcebook for Eclipse Phase's inner solar system: the mines of Mercury, the aerostats of independent Venus, the ruins and mysteries of Earth, the dystopian refugee-choked settlements of cislunar space, and the emerging shiny neo-cyberpunk future that the Planetary Consortium is trying to create on a fast-terraforming Mars.

Recommended for flavour, and for the interesting ideas--Venus, in particular, is an interesting achievement. Nov 20, Eric Willman rated it it was amazing.

This is Fantastic sourcebook material. The never-before-revealed details about the current state of the Planet Earth are excellent. The treatments for Mars and Venus are superb, especially as concerns the little explained Barsoomian Rebel movement and The Morningstar Constellation. It's expose of the history of Lunar colonization and the TITAN disaster that occurred there is fodder for countless adventures. All in all, until I read Sunward, this was my favorite sourcebook of the series.

Sunward: The Inner System

This page is full of spoilers, so if you're a player you probably shouldn't read them, or you should at least talk to your gamemaster before doing so. The following ideas expand on some of the material introduced regarding the inner system. As always, gamemasters should feel free to alter or even ignore this material as best fits their campaign settings—especially if they know their players have read this section. As noted in the text, several antimatter factories exist on or in orbit above Mercury. Each consists of multiple particle accelerators for slamming atoms together and enormous solar arrays for collecting energy.

Eclipse Phase: Sunward

Sunward covers the terrestrial planets of the solar system, as well as other important bits like the Sun and the Vulcanoids. Owing to the hard sci-fi nature of the setting, this stuff is mostly just extrapolating current science and putting it in context of the transhuman future. It gets a few details wrong Mercury does have an atmosphere — just a really, really pathetic one but not enough to annoy. And then we get into my first annoyance.

Eclipse Phase is a post-apocalyptic game of conspiracy and horror. Technology allows the reshaping of bodies and minds, but also creates opportunities for oppression and puts the capability for mass destruction in the hands of everyone. And otherthreats lurk in the devastated habitats of the Fall, dangers both familiar and alien. In this harshsetting, the players participate in a cross-faction conspiracy called Firewall that seeks to protect transhumanity from threats both internal and external. Along the way, they may find themselves hunting for prized technology in a gutted habitat falling from orbit, risking the hellish landscapes of a ruined earth, or following the trail of a terrorist through militarized stations and isolationist habitats.
