The book includes contributions from thirty leading scholars like Dr. Radhakrishnan, professors S. Das and T. Burrow and Percival Spear. It is a comprehensive review of the many facets of India's rich cultural, heritage. Andrew Llewellyn Basham was an eminent British indologist and historian.
Basham was born in in Essex, England. His father served in the Indian Army and he greatly influenced his son's interest in India.
Basham studied at the School of Oriental and African Studies. He graduated with a degree in Sanskrit. He later completed his doctorate at SOAS and joined the faculty of that prestigious institution.
He eventually became the head of its history department. In he joined the Australian National University as its History department head. Instead of relieving me from the stress, it added to my misery.
