The dads girlfriend, he was fine with he hating his son until he found out it was because he was gay and not because he was a part shifter why should it matter why she hates your son? This one was about James and Lou. James is a 23 year old man with horrible rhuematoid arthritis. His father hates shifters and James loves them so James escapes and moves to a town full of shifters.
James and the sheriff Lou, who's a bear shifter, have been eyeing each other since James rolled into town. James thinks no one would want him because he's almost crippled, addict What I love about Amber Kell's books is that they are like watching a wacky sitcom. James thinks no one would want him because he's almost crippled, addicted to the pain drugs his father makes for him and too scrawny.
Lou wants James no matter what. Getting into the story would kind of ruin the whole thing for someone who hasn't read it. So, I'll say this: There's a bear shifter who randomly shifts and ends up naked, a lion shifter who randomly shifts and ends up naked, an evil organization muahahahaha that experiments on shifters, lots of ripping people apart literally , lots of blood that comes with the ripping apart of people, and the return of that crazy lion pride and it's lone wolf.
Dear Amber Kell, I really hope the next pride story will be about the cute little fox shifter and Dennis. I need a hint. Please, just a little hint. View all 3 comments. The first time Lou and James are together supposedly James is still in pain to be standing up fucking Lou, i would have buy it if James was laying down and Lou 2. The first time Lou and James are together supposedly James is still in pain to be standing up fucking Lou, i would have buy it if James was laying down and Lou was mounting him, but not as Amber put it.
And a lot of human people died and they just shrug it, i mean, i know most of them were bad people, but some might have been employees lied into believe shifters were bad and stuff, and in the end is like if they were just disposable, I kind of understand now how these people think shifters are cold bastards.
So yeah, i enjoyed it, but it wasn't as good as the first two books. Oct 28, DaisyGirl rated it it was ok Shelves: genre-romance , i-dont-own , romance-pnr , m-m. Although I love Lou and James was okay, this one was a little bit of a let down for me.
The story was slow and dragged at times, which is saying a lot given how short these books are. The relationship development overall between Lou and James was lacking and, when it did happen, abrupt.
On the plus side, I did like the father-son dynamic between James and his dad. Bottom line: lackluster. May 18, Caroline Brand rated it really liked it Shelves: , reviewed-for-prism , m-m , m-m-paranormal , shifter , short , 4-star-read. Before too much can happen though Lou will have to help his man figure a few things out. James is crippled with pain and can barely walk some days. I think out of all the mates we have met so far he is my favourite for his sheer tenacity.
What he thinks of as a lifelong illness may be something else entirely and why does the small town full of shifters call to him when his father is so against them. Aug 22, Cole Riann rated it liked it Shelves: m-m , m-m-shifters , m-m-series , m-m-pnr , m-m-hurt-comfort , m-m-substance-abuse. This is a very straight-forward bite-size increment shifter series, but this story went a little bit deeper.
Instead of a simple outside threat, there were a few more plot twists and I found not only James' illness a nice change to the series, but the particular reason for his affliction. It was more interesting and seemed to have a bit more meat behind the story. Much more enjoyable. Nov 12, Janeylou rated it liked it.
Jul 23, Jes Jester rated it liked it. Wonderful I really like how Amber is continuing the story line, dut with a new couple! If it takes a reader 5 seconds to figure out the "Arthritis", why the main hero is so stupid? If shifters were a secret and he didn't know about them it might be believable.
Now his father is shifter hater, gives him pills for his "Arthritis" which is unique and all. What, he never went to a doctor? Sure parents are the best doctors. No need for specialists. No need for a second opinion either.
I don't remember if fated mates is a known thing or no. If it's known, our sheriff is one stupid shifte If it takes a reader 5 seconds to figure out the "Arthritis", why the main hero is so stupid? If it's known, our sheriff is one stupid shifter.
Got my answer. He is stupid. Why to even have the instinct to recognize your mate if you are too stupid to figure it out. Are coincidences really necessary?
Overdosing just after being asked out on a date. Sure spoil all the mystery to everyone in the first pages. Wouldn't it be more interesting to not have it explained in one paragraph? And some questions sound strange. I've never seen this. That's completely insane. Does "People against werekin" sound like an outreach program, a way to get werekin's attention to humans? It has word against. Maybe my English is worse than I think.
